Battery replacement

Before removing your batteries, please contact the alarm center at 1-800-567-8381 to request that your system be put into test mode. They will ask for your password to process your request. Otherwise, your equipment may send us alerts.

If your alarm panel starts beeping when you open the components, please enter your user code on the keypad; this will silence the alarm. Once the battery is changed, if the system continues to display a problem/trouble, enter your user code again.

#1 - Doors and Windows Contact - PG9975

  1. Before removing your old battery, disarm the system and contact the alarm center at 1-800-567-8381 to ask them to put your system in test mode for 1 hour.
  2. Remove the contacts from their location
  3. Insert a flat screwdriver into the contact slot and lift to open the contact.
  4. Get a CR2032 battery (found in stores / Amazon) and change the battery.
  5. Close the cover and replace the contact in its original location (if necessary, apply new adhesive)
  6. Give the system up to 5 minutes to recognize the contact.

#2 - Doors and Windows Contact - PG9303

  1. Before removing your old battery, disarm the system and contact the alarm center at 1-800-567-8381 to ask them to put your system in test mode for 1 hour.
  2. Remove the contacts from their location.
  3. Insert a flat screwdriver into the contact slot and lift to open the contact.
  4. Get a CR2450 battery (found in stores / Amazon) and change the battery. The positive side (+) must be facing up.
  5. Close the cover and replace the contact in its original location (if necessary, apply new adhesive)
  6. Allow up to 5 minutes for the system to recognize the contact.

#3 - Doors and Windows Contact - PG9945

  1. Before removing your old battery, disarm the system and contact the alarm center at 1-800-567-8381 to ask them to put your system in test mode for 1 hour.
  2. Remove the contacts from their slots.
  3. Insert a flathead screwdriver into the contact slot and gently lift it up to open the contact.
  4. Remove the old battery and insert a new CR123A battery (available in stores/Amazon) into the device.
  5. Close the cover and replace the contact in its original location (apply a new sticker if necessary).
  6. Allow up to 5 minutes for the system to recognize the contact.

#4 - Exterior Doors Contact - PG9312

1. Before removing your old battery, disarm the system and contact the alarm center at 1-800-567-8381 to ask them to put your system in test mode for 1 hour.
2. Remove the contacts from their slots.
3. Insert a flathead screwdriver into the contact slot and gently lift it up to open it.
4. Remove the batteries and insert two new AA batteries (available in stores/Amazon).
5. Close the cover and replace the contact in its original location (apply a new sticker if necessary).
6. Allow up to 5 minutes for the system to recognize the contact.

#5 - Motion Detector - PG9914

  1. Before removing your old battery, disarm the system and contact the alarm center at 1-800-567-8381 to ask them to put your system in test mode for 1 hour.
  2. Remove the device from its original location.
  3. Using a screwdriver, unscrew the screw located at the bottom of the motion detector by turning it counterclockwise.
  4. Press the bottom of the cover and separate it from the base of the device.
  5. Remove the old battery and insert a new CR123A battery (available in stores / Amazon) into the device.
  6. Replace the cover and return the device to its original location.

#6 - Smoke Detector - PG9936

  1. Before removing your old battery, disarm the system and contact the alarm center at 1-800-567-8381 to ask them to put your system in test mode for 1 hour.
  2. Remove it from the ceiling by rotating it counterclockwise.
  3. Remove the batteries, wait 20 seconds and insert 3 new AAA batteries.
  4. Reinstall the smoke detector on its base on the ceiling.
  5. Verify that a green light starts flashing every 12 seconds to indicate normal operation. If the batteries have been installed incorrectly, no light will be produced.

#7 - Smoke Detector - PG4926, PG9926 and PG8926

1. Before removing your old battery, disarm the system and contact the alarm center at 1-800-567-8381 to ask them to put your system in test mode for 1 hour.
2. Remove the device from the ceiling by turning it counterclockwise (holding the base as needed).
3. Remove the battery, wait 20 seconds, and insert a new 3V CR123A battery (available in stores/Amazon).
4. Reinstall the smoke detector on its ceiling base.
5. Press the TEST button for 2 seconds to test. Check the web app to confirm the connection as needed.

#8 - Smoke & Heat Detector - PG4916, PG9916 and PG8916

1. Before removing your old battery, disarm the system and contact the alarm center at 1-800-567-8381 to ask them to put your system in test mode for 1 hour.
2. Remove the device from the ceiling by turning it counterclockwise (holding the base as needed).
3. Remove the battery, wait 20 seconds, and insert a new CR123A battery (available in stores/Amazon).
4. Reinstall the detector on its base.
5. Press the TEST button for 2 seconds to test. Check the web app to confirm the connection as needed.

#9 - Carbon Monoxide Detector - PG9913, PG4913 and PG8913

1. Before removing your old battery, disarm the system and contact the alarm center at 1-800-567-8381 to ask them to put your system in test mode for 1 hour.
2. Remove the device from the ceiling by turning it counterclockwise (holding the base as needed).
3. Remove the battery, wait 20 seconds, and insert a new 9V alkaline battery (available in stores/Amazon).
4. Reinstall the smoke detector on its ceiling base.
5. Check the web app to confirm the connection is secure.

#10 - Carbon Monoxide Detector - IQ5210-840

  1. Before removing your old battery, disarm the system and contact the alarm center at 1-800-567-8381 to ask them to put your system in test mode for 1 hour.
  2. Remove it from the ceiling by turning it counterclockwise.
  3. Remove the batteries, wait 20 seconds and insert a new 3V CR123A battery (available in stores / Amazon)
  4. Reinstall the smoke detector on its base on the ceiling.
  5. Verify that a green light starts flashing every 12 seconds to indicate normal operation. If the batteries have been installed incorrectly, no light will be produced.

#11 - Temperature Detector - PG9905, PG8905 and PG4905

  1. Before removing your old battery, disarm the system and contact the alarm center at 1-800-567-8381 to ask them to put your system in test mode for 1 hour.
  2. Insert a flathead screwdriver into the slot and push upward to remove the cover, then remove the screw and separate the cover from the base.
  3. Remove the battery and insert a new CR123A battery (available in stores/Amazon).
  4. Replace the cover starting from the opposite end from which it was opened, replacing the screw and then the outer cover.
  5. The system may take up to 5 minutes to detect the new battery.

#13 - Water Detector - PG4985

1- Insert a flathead screwdriver into the slot and push upward to remove the cover.
2- Remove the screw and separate the cover from the base.
3- Make sure the area where the batteries are stored is clean and free of corrosion.
4- Remove the battery and insert a new CR123A battery (available in stores/Amazon).
5- Replace the cover starting from the opposite end from which it was opened, replacing the screw and then the outer cover. You should hear a click if it closes properly.

#14 - Glass Break Detector - PG9922

  1. Before removing your old battery, disarm the system and contact the alarm center at 1-800-567-8381 to ask them to put your system in test mode for 1 hour.
  2. Leaving the sensor in place, open the cover by removing the locking screw from the bottom of the device, then pressing the tab on the bottom of the sensor.
  3. Remove the old battery and insert a new CR123A battery (available in stores/Amazon) into the device.
  4. Replace the cover starting from the opposite end from which it was opened until you hear a snap, then replace the locking screw.

#15 - Indoor Siren - PG4901, PG9901 and PG8901

1- Before removing your old battery, disarm the system and contact the alarm center at 1-800-567-8381 to ask them to put your system into test mode for 1 hour.
2- Loosen the cover screw and remove the cover.
3- Using the adapter cable, disconnect the old batteries and then connect the new BATT-PGX901/X911 batteries (available online/Amazon) to the appropriate connectors.
4- Close the cover and tighten the screw.

#16 - Outdoor Siren - PG9911

1- Before removing your old battery, disarm the system and contact the alarm center at 1-800-567-8381 to ask them to put your system into test mode for 1 hour.
2- Loosen the cover screw and remove the cover.
3- Using the adapter cable, disconnect the old batteries and then connect the new BATT-PGX901/X911 batteries (available online/Amazon) to the appropriate connectors.
4- Close the cover and tighten the screw.

#17 - Remote Controller with Two Buttons - PG9949

1. Check that the system is disarmed.
2. Using a screwdriver, remove the rear screw and open the controller.
3. Remove the battery and insert a new CR2032 battery (available in stores/Amazon) and replace it. The (+) sign must be facing up.
4. Close the controller and tighten the screw with the screwdriver.
5. Test the controller by pressing the various buttons. The light should come on and the buttons should work.

#18 - Remote Controller with Four Buttons - PG9929

  1. Check that the system is disarmed.
  2. With a screwdriver, remove the rear screw and open the controller.
  3. Get a CR2032 battery (found in stores / Amazon) and change the battery. The (+) sign facing up.
  4. Close the controller and tighten the screw using the screwdriver.
  5. Test the controller by pressing the different buttons. The light should come on and the buttons should work.
